For people new to SharePoint 2013/2016, and for self-taught users to enhance their knowledge.
Objectives
By the end of this course participants should be able to:
- Use, create, and edit content within Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016
- Create and manage a team site
- Use the facilities of a team site to collaborate with your colleagues
Course Prerequisites
Participants should already:
- Learners should have experience of Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.

Working with SharePoint
• Create a new team site
• Explain how SharePoint can help create a collaborative working environment
• Examine SharePoint Building Blocks
• Navigate around the system
Working with Libraries and Lists
• Create lists
• Create Calendars and events
• Create and use an Issue Tracking list
• Create a Contact list
• Create Task list
• Create additional columns and customised views
Working with Documents
• Understand what advantages a document library has over traditional file storage
• Recognise some limitations of document libraries
• Create a new Microsoft Office document inside SharePoint 2013
• Upload a new document into a document library
• Drag multiple documents into a document library
• Customise versioning settings on a document library
• Check documents out and back in again
• Set up alerts on a document
Customising Navigation
• Add lists and libraries to the Quick Launch using drag and drop
• Rename a Quick Launch link without leaving your current page
• Delete a Quick Launch link without leaving your current page
• Drag links to pages onto the Quick Launch
Working with Surveys
• Create and configure new online survey
• Add questions to a survey
• Change the order of questions on a survey
• Fill in responses for a survey
• Edit and delete responses for a survey
• Export results from a survey to Microsoft Excel, and keep them updated
• Understand the similarities between surveys and other lists in SharePoint
